ASGS was contracted by Southern Cross Care to deliver a critical project at The Pines, involving comprehensive asbestos removal, mechanical demolition, and site levelling. The three-storey buildings occupied a large portion of the southern side of the site, creating unique challenges due to their proximity to operational nursing home facilities.
Working within such a sensitive environment required strict safety protocols, detailed planning, and careful sequencing to minimise disruption to residents and staff. Limited access via open footpaths added complexity, demanding precise coordination and execution.
The ASGS team conducted thorough site assessments, maintained clear communication with stakeholders, and implemented rigorous controls throughout asbestos removal and demolition works. The project was successfully completed on time and to the highest standards, reinforcing ASGS’s expertise in managing sensitive demolition and hazardous material projects while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
